• We live in Peterlee and often have a drive to the Hartlepool Headland, for a nice walk and to visit this chippy. Have never been disappointed. Fish is wonderfully fresh. Sometimes you have to queue for a few minutes...but it's well worth the wait! One of the best chippies I've enver been to.

• Called in for lunch on Friday I had to wait until the burger was fried so I expected a fresh burger. Instead I got what looked and tasted like a burger that had been re-fried from an earlier fry the batter was to dark and almost burnt. My son has a fish and chip shop in Redcar and when I asked him he said I should have told the server that I did not want the burger because it was not fresh. I will not use this shop again, I went because of there reputation for selling good food I must have gone on the wrong day.

• Always said they are the best fish &chips in the north east. Went last week and the chips were cut very thinly and a lot were scappy bits.

• Best fish and chips in the area. We travel 20 miles and they are always fresh and succulent. Just like they were cooked in the olden days with crisp batter and the whitest cod. Eat them in the park opposite for the best sea views. Fab!
