• This is going to be controversial but here we go over the past 3 years we as a family have spent around £15000-00 with Tri Dive Scuba so a big investment me thinks When i first joined the welcome was great & the assistant instructors & dive masters that helped me achieve all i have (which is now dive master) has been fantastic But slowly over the past couple of years mark overington has upset & lost a lot of his ‘staff’ of which i was one in all 2 assistant instructors 4 dive masters have left & speaking with them have all left or been driven out by the same reasons Once you stop spending money you are not as welcome as you once were This is usually on needles specs of which i was also sucked into you are basically paying £125-00 to £140-00 for a plastic card & not being taught or shown anything about what your card shows This is not the case with all specs but broadly speaking this is the case & have spoken to many people who have come through the club in my time, taken specs & felt unhappy with what they have received This is not a slight on tri dive scuba staff in any way This is a problem with mark overington himself & his people skills which are sadly lacking in many areas This has been difficult to write as my wife is still an assistant instructor in the club but to many people i have spoken to can’t be wrong she is aware of it but just wants to dive so i have to accept that But if you are reading this & are thinking of taking up diving, do your main courses which are taught broadly well & leave it at that You will find the staff that help & do most of the teaching the best there are its just a shame that mark overington does not appreciate them well enough Its a real shame because a lot of good people have left & are leaving But i have come out of this with lifelong friends which is the big upside Overall the biggest problem is mark overingtons rudeness & attitude towards some people at times which i & other people find unacceptable
