Sadly I won't be back, very dissapointed!!!! Mrs N Reviewed 13th October 2013 5:28 AM
My boyfriend and I went to the beehive pub this evening and expected a nice meal however were highly let down! We ordered two burgers, a glass of wine and a lager and were met with a dirty wine glass with lip marks still all over it which when we then pointed this out the waitress just poured the wine into another glass which I thought was rather unhygienic. We then paid nearly £40 for the meals which thought was a bit pricey but we would reserve judgement until the food arrived. After waiting nearly an hour with no apology for the delay we received a basket with some French fries which were far from home cooked and a burger with onion rings which was a rather generous name for them as there was near on no onion and what there was was burned. Our dog would not even eat them and considering he is a greedy Labrador that is saying something! Overall over priced for what we were served considering its not even table service -ie you need to order etc yourself. Walked past the kitchen to hear the staff swearing which did not find tasteful when the were children around. Overall abysmal! Oh and feel ill now too btw Unsatisfied customer Reviewed 27th August 2013 10:47 PM
Having visited this pub on Saturday I have to say it was very enjoyable.....however my husband ordered steak and ale pie, it looked a bit sparse on the plate just pie and chips, when we eventually caught the waitress I asked her "do you have to order veg seperately" she looked highly embarrassed and said "did no one bring them" then muttered a sort of apology and said the chef had changed the menu and he probably didn't realise..... We didn't bother taking it any further as my husband was full and said he couldn't eat any more but we did think the waitress may have mentioned it to the chef/owner and then offer either a free desert or reduced our bill slightly 'something would have been good' but nothing so REMEMBER VEG COMES WITH A MEAL IF IT DOESN'T ASK FOR IT IMMEDIATELY. However back to the good very enjoyable PUB food, maybe a tad overpriced.... A lady from Northumberland Reviewed 3rd June 2013 7:24 PM
Sservice really slow, unless you are friends of the owners. Food over priced and mediocre at best. Re-furb, what re-furb!! Natalie jones Reviewed 19th January 2013 10:34 PM
we visited the beehive last night ,went with a open mind after reading the reviews on here, we weren't disappointed all 4 of us enjoyed our meal the fish and chips are quality and the steak was cooked as asked. We visited the old beehive many times and had no complaints but believe the open (working)fires in every room and less crampedness from over filling with tables meant a better eating experience debra Reviewed 18th November 2012 12:06 PM
My husband and I were regular visitors to The Beehive before the refurb. We went to have a look on the opening night and have been tonight for a meal. I have to say that I find it stunning. I had the half roast chicken with potatoes and salad, my husband had the burger. Both meals were fantastic, reasonably priced and were generous portions. The pub itself, I think, desperately needed updating and it is now warm, comfortable, modern and welcoming. I can't find a single fault with it :) We will definitely be back (if we can get a seat - it gets really busy) as we only live along the road. Really love it, it's now my favourite place to eat!!! Could not wait to get you to vacate your seat, after a very disappointing meal.food very average.A most unpleasant dining experience not one myself nor my family would wish to repeat. sheila turner Reviewed 28th August 2012 6:47 PM
Visited today, 22nd August,2012 and it was appallingly bad! Two bar meals that were inedible! Food took ages to serve and when it came, I wish it hadn't! Couldn't eat the Roast Beef as it was all fat and gristly! My wife tried a different sandwich to me but she left most of hers too! Appalling isn't too strong a word for this believe me! Needless to say, we won't be venturing back there again! (at the bottom of this page you have to allocate a Star Rating and ONE star is the minimum it will allow but believe me, it was nowhere near a ONE! Minus ten maybe but never a one! Mr. D. Very good lunch on fine August day- extremely busy, warned in advance there would be a 30 minute delay for food so fine with that. Suddenly cleared around 2.00pm, so I would suggest go later rather then earlier. Nice varied menu at varied prices- starter and main with two glasses of wine each came to £19 per head. Food not good at all, sounded better on the menu than the real thing. One meal sent back, one meal delivered after everyone else finished. Mrs P Allan Reviewed 27th July 2012 1:30 PM

Sampled the Sunday lunch today. Was delicious and good sized portions. £8.95 for main course so fairly priced. The place looks great since the refurbishment and has a lovely atmosphere. Was very busy, think they may have to introduce a reservation system in the future! Will be back to try the evening menu! Maria McPherson Reviewed 15th July 2012 5:43 PM
Since this has been taken over the place has had a new lease of life put into it! the new owners are warm and welcoming and the place has a fantastic atnosphere.
The menu is fantastic and very extensive with 5 star food at pub prices.
The secret garden is great for children with a huge new climing frame.
Would definately reccoment a vist, there a few pubs in the region which offer this standard of food and attentivness by the staff. annik Reviewed 13th July 2012 11:20 AM
Newly refurbished but taken away all the character. Cheaply done up but the meals expensive. £9.95 for one of the main courses on a lunch time!! Lacks atmosphere just too clinical for such an old historic building Peter henderson Reviewed 11th July 2012 7:16 AM
