• I went to pop in to the Woodville before a meeting, read my papers, chill with a drink but a £1 entrance charge was demanded of me. I said I had never heard of being charged into a pub and it was absolutely ridiculous. The reason given was the drinks were very cheap. The young man collecting the money at the door and described as 'assistant manager' followed me to the bar and banged the pound down in front of me saying 'I am not going to be talked to like that ' and walked off leaving the barman to say he wouldn't serve me. As I left I complained and the young man shouted 'this is a young persons pub' - Age discrimination as well I replied and I certainly won't go there again. It's very noisy anyway.
