  • 1 star reviewDissapointed with Terrible customer service Prior to ordering I advised I had had Bariatric surgery, only could eat very small childlike portion I asked if I could order from the pensioners menu as smaller portion Was told they would ask Somone else came to speak to me I explained again, was told again they would ask I felt very uncomfortable having to explain myself yet again They came back for a second timr and said yes that's fine I orded the chicken Five minutes later I was advised I couldn't have the chicken as it was a set size, this I totally understood I then charged my order to the pan fried liver, I only ate three chips and four bite sized pieces of liver I went to pay and was charged full price I reminded the waitress it had been agreed I could have my meal from the smaller menu section, I was then told OH SHE CHANGED HER MIND I was taken aback , if this wasn't agreeable when I originally asked then they should of just said not told me yes no problem but to just change there mind is not GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I only managed to say well I should have been Told, I felt uncomfortable as it was having to ask and explain myself twice then for to be told yes no problem N THEN OH SHE CHANGED HER MIND TOTALLY WRONG , WE WON'T BE GOING AGAIN TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE,

  • 4 star reviewWe went to the White Hart at lunchtime and found the staff extremely helpful. My husband had the pie which he thoroughly enjoyed, I had the fish which was very good. I enjoyed the trifle and he enjoyed the apple crumble

  • 1 star reviewHaving been to this pub for meals before and knowing the landlord via another means we thought that to celebrate our son’s birthday we would treat him and his extended family/godparents to a meal. As there were 16 in the party we thought we would get people to select in advance and this would assist. How wrong can you be? We arrived early to find not one table of 16 but two long tables of eight and the explanation that they could not put 16 people together. Had this been told to us before we would have cancelled? My son then had a decision of which table to sit at, and risk offending the other people! We then found out that 2 meals we had telephoned through were not on the list. The pie, we had ordered 4, they only had 2 left and this is because they had driven to the Harvey Arms (another pub they own/manage, in Finningley), to acquire it from there. 14 people had arrived early but instead of waiting for the last 2 who arrived at 6pm I was being asked if they could start bringing out the food. When we did get starters 2 were missing. A simple soup being one. I was told – sorry we have run out. Then the meals. Bearing in mind I had been told 2 pies were all that was left they then brought out 3! This was the last straw and we felt we had to say something. Any complaint though was greeted with a gruff re-buff of its all we have got. Basically a take it or leave it scenario. Some of the chips were not cooked through and were raw, the lasagne was cold in the middle, the pie lacked gravy and the Cajun chicken was in fact chicken breast with a bit of colour that was as dry as a bone. We dare not order desert for fear of being further upset. As this was a treat for our son/friends/family as had settled the bill when we got there. At the end of the meal we were given another bill, for meals apparently not on the first bill. Given I had no receipt I questioned this and the burly manager was sent out to ‘speak to me’. His manner was not managerial at all and he was not prepared to listen, rather talk over me. As one point I suggested that he allow me to finish what I was saying. He rebuked this and continued to talk over me. Outcome – a loss of 16 people in terms of returning there. Glad this pub can afford to lose business in this way ?? Would I recommend it – err No.
