  • 4 star reviewWe rang late on the off-chance that they might have a table for five available. No trouble at all. Lovely old pub, ample parking, extensive menu. Top-notch ale, very decent bottle of house plonk and starters and main course were delicious,particularly home-made pate which was the best I've ever tasted. Attentive service without overdoing it. Only one minor fault - nobody asked if we wanted sweet or coffee. As it happened we were all full and had decided against any more, but it would have been nice to have been asked!
