  • 5 star review "Well they still racing out in the tresstles but that beer it never burned in her veins ... now i here shes got a new boozer in the fancy part of town .. well tell her i will be waiting at The Walbrook on the darkness on the edge of town." Hi there we are a family run pub with the owner now retired. A little bit of history, mr Sund bought the pub in 1970 something?? ( we got to have some mystery) the building has had many incarnations and it has been an interesting journey from a chip shop(which had a jukebox and pool table) to restaurant to public house. * entertainment * Usually the radios on in the background, maybe classical FM or sunrise but if we want to rock out we have the bo$$,sometimes Oscar or Nish play there geetars!! film night sometimes we watch a black and white movie on our cinama screen. we love anything with subtitles. we like to watch Derby Co. when the game is not on sky. The pub is split into 3 sections: 1) the telly room/quiet room. 2) the bar and raised seating. 3) the games room which apart from a huge pool table which is priced at one pound!! to keep the riff raff at bay and it does the trick we also have a top of the range barfootball table super striker! the games room is where you can sit in relaxing suroundings and play a game of triv against the house champion !! or just enjoy our woodburner which keeps the place nice and toasty. this area leeds out into our smokin/ part covered area. nicely done out in decking and white washed walls with hanging baskets compleat our tour. also is our bbq area which leeds into our kitchen. Food glourious food. you cant have a pub without food." man can not live on ale alone "At the moment we are serve a chicken curry on the weekend which we take donations for. its all very friendly and pally pally . we a family and we as the owners try and treat the customers/punters as family, this is expressed when the till is low on float and a customer will be asked to hold on for that £5 note which may not be available. or if we run out of stock then its a quick step to the local shop . We pride ourself in our friendly service and would bend over backwards to help. like on getting people home over the festive season then we the staff would be more than happy to drop you off as taxis are hard to come. we pride our selves on our prices where you can enjoy any double for £2.50 and thats including the mixer!!! no hidden charges no bull**it small print. all in all if you was to walk in the door and we would want to know your name and what your having to drink ( this in itself could be a quest as our extensive range of drinks is made even more so with our mixologist on hand who will do you some thing special ) and even your tastes/needs/ interests are explored ... like a game of chess? then our house grandmaster will give you a run or maybe you just want a quiet drink..a cup of dargeeling then thats fine by us. so please if you hav nt tried us come down, we dont bite would be only too pleased to see you. thankyou for reading x
