  • 1 star reviewService was terrible , food took ages they forgot our order... When it finally arrived it was overcooked, tasteless, and cold. Won't be going back,

  • 4 star reviewWell pretty shocked at all the bad reviews on here as have used this pub for seven years now and always had consistently good food with only the odd or minor complaint but this is usually at very busy times which is understandable. The pub is always busy so I can only assume that the bad reviews are by a minority. Anyway thumbs up from me and would not hesitate to give this pub 4.5 out of 5 and the only reason for not giving it a 5 is the drinks can be a little pricey

  • 1 star reviewVisited yesterday with group of friends. Meal took one hour. Too long we had two young children with us. Ordered off main menu. Meals very small. Not worth the money. Total bill for food was over £100.

  • 1 star reviewDon't touch the Lancashire hotpot. It had the texture, look and taste of cheap cat food. My wife described it to the waitress as disgusting and given the meal for 2 came to £33 (with a drink eat) we were not happy. The other meal (Chilli Chicken was okay) but the we will not be eating there again.

  • 4 star reviewJust had lunch there, as members of a walking group. They had to cope with 23 of us all ordering at once, some changing Chips for mash or jackets, mushy peas for garden etc. Brilliant ordering, no probs, lots of smiles, same with delivering of the meals. Very good food, lots of it, good quality.

  • 1 star reviewBy far and away the worst dining experience of my life. Ruined an important family event. Pre-booked for party of 13 but complete shambles, painfully slow service, specials not available despite being on board, missed off half our orders so people had no food, the food that was delivered was cold and sub-standard and some was sent back immediately, and to top it all I got verbally assaulted by a member of 'staff' because I had the audacity of sending my steak back because it was stone cold after asking for a steak knife 3 times and being completely ignored. Young children at the table were in tears and the whole event was utterly disgusting. So sad as my family used to be regulars there. To top it off, despite emailing the brewery who run it I have not even had a reply. I really cannot describe in words how awful this place is. There are plenty of pubs in the same area who offer much better food and surroundings, much better prices, and service that shames this pub's.
