• Might be OK if you are camping or want somewhere to take the kids for lunch that isn't MAcdonalds but do NOT go there for an evening meal - food is very, very poor, service is worse ( one hour to serve chicken and chips and we were the only people in the restaurant, the chicken had been cooked by slinging it in the deep fryer and was pink inside, and the oven chips were cold and hard. Yeuch! Also room was very cold.

• I went there yesterday (Sunday 10th April), and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good beers and food. Its good to see a pub offering a simple menu - but doing it well - ie. taste and quality (and reasonably priced!). Too many pubs offer overly complicated and expensive food which is a let down ....if you want a good old english roast or steak and ale pie(, sat outside with a pint in a lovely beer garden - with play area for kids - then you wont go far wrong with the Travellers Rest. More than happy to positively recommend!
