My first ever visit to the shop and there was one person in front of me. They must have been a regular customer as the assistant at the checkout greeted them warmly, had a pleasant exchange with them and was very courteous. When my turn came I said a friendly hello, and was utterly blanked. Assistant was sullen to the point of rudeness. This is clearly a local shop for local people. Only gave it one star because it wouldn't let me give none!Too many of the staff are sullen and humourless. Why is the shop so reluctant to issue receipts? The shop is well stocked, but shopping there is no pleasure.Fantastic shop, excellent staff. I don't know what Anne is muttering on about, this shop is fantastic. Its so refreshing to go into a shop and be greeted by friendly staff for a change!I bought a packet of Little gem lettuces here today and when I got it home it was bad all the way through. I cannot return it because it would cost me more in diesel than the lettuce cost. The rest of the fruit and vegetable were also quite old and not very fresh (I bought raspberries and bananas as well). The spar was also selling bags of lettuce with a sell by date of yesterday although they were at a sale price of 50p, but still I didn't think this was legal. Definitely not recommended. I would have emailed the company but they do not have a website or an email address that I could find so this is the only way I can get my message acrossExcellent store, fantastic staff. Was effecient, friendly and very polite and helpful.Rating history and distribution
