  • 5 star reviewI selfishly held off reviewing because I hadn't finished buying my Christmas items, and didn't want them to sell out before I could get back to the shop. But if you have a home or premises to decorate, stockings and party bags to fill, this place is FANTASTIC. My personal favourites this year are the battery operated wine bottles filled with LED fairy lights. They come in four colours: red (there were fewer of them on the shelf so, currently they are likely to be the most popular) turquoise-blue, green, and a smokey grey. The smokey grey would probably best suit those of you suffering from quiet good taste. But I love the colours sparkling in among bottles of wine etc on table, or on show generally. Good for parties, or suppers or decoration or just to add a touch of magic; the blue, green and grey would look good for summer. And I can vouch for their value as gifts being superb. Almost everyone who sees them, wants some! Buy 2 or 3 at £1 each and add another £1 to buy a long strip of branded AAA batteries and you have a very attractive gift at very low cost. I tend to give 3 just because 3 of anything (we'll leave human relationships out of this!)seems satisfyingly complete. Another option is to buy sets of the 10(?)LED lights (£1 each, of course) and stuff them in your own empty bottles. They look good in Badoit water bottles and in the little green beer bottles with a Buddha fashioned on the front<last bought in Morrisons. To do this you need to ensure you have the lights with bulbs small enough to be pushed through the neck of the bottle. These take 2 AA batteries; again a long strip can be bought in store for, you guessed, £1. Christmas crackers for your club or School/college party? £1 for 6! And if you want to upgrade them there's a fold-in slit which allows you to insert other small items. Some colours/designs look much better than others but you can probably improve the cheaper looking ones with the 3d stick ons that little girls(?) buy to make their own cards. Poundland sells them too: 2 for a £1 I believe. I also bought sets of 3 wooden painted fish dangling on jutelike string. Good for bathroom or bedroom, for decor anywhere with a sea theme. The Store is full up with these splendid £1 items. There is always something new. In the past I've bought lifesized toads (with sensors) which croaked as people passed. And anonymous looking stones which have opened up to reveal one's front door key. Once their secrets were revealed both were coveted, and given away before I had a chance to use them as 'proper' gifts. I could go on and on (if I didn't have something else to do) but I suggest you call in and see for yourself or if you haven't a shop near you, take a look online. This is not a marketing stunt; no-one has paid or asked me to write this. But I am grateful to have found the store personnel extraordinarily helpful, particularly a man named Ricardo(?)part of the Management team(?); he didn't huff and puff when I was late leaving the shop, but assisted me in carrying my bags of delights to the car. Thank you!
