• I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. I signed a business insurance package with them towards the end of 2013 after getting a quote from their rep Neil White, i was fishy about them from first meeting when they bad mouthed other brokers we were getting quotes from. After a few months i received a call from Neil White saying my insurance was being cancelled and that they would have to find me another insurer for no fault of my own as all payments were up to date via direct debit. I smelt a rat from day one and knew they were no good so from this point decided to cut my losses and look elsewhere for a quotation. On 3rd of March 2014 i found Portcullis were still debiting my account for £855.22 each month even after cancelling my policy. When i rang them, they said according to their records im still insured but when i told them i had a signed letter from Neil White saying it was cancelled.. The tone changed and they said they will call me back. I rang three times that day to get my money back and was promised someone will call me back. In total i have rang this company 12 times to date and each time all they tell me is "someone will call you back". Even the director Mr Phil Gooch has nothing to say except "we'll get back to you" but now 2 weeks on and still not one person from the company has had the decency to call me back after taking over £2000 of my money illegally. This company was previously known as Lonsdale Risk Solutions Limited and although registered address is Exeter they actually trade from Tunbridge Wells. I have now made contact with the FSA to get involved but Portcullis do not seem at all bothered. Avoid this company like the plague, they will take your money then tell you mid policy to pay more for no reason at all and either way they will debit your account and never return your calls.
