• When Po King opened it was fantastic. Food, atmosphere, delivery and quality were all second to none. Since then however things have begun to slip. In the last few months we have had a very 'hit or miss' experience with them. When the food is good, it's great, when it's bad, it's inedible. We have heard many locals complain about bad food over the last 6vmonths or so but hadn't experienced anything too terrible ourselves, until last night. Our food (carry out) was tasteless, poorly cooked, cheap cuts of meat. My husband had to add salt to try and give some flavour. The sauces were unrecognisable as anything other than coloured water, the chicken was barely cooked in some places and the smaller pieces were like rubber. We live locally and eat out of the Po King fairly regularly, so i'm not complaining for the sake of it. I decided to call the restaurant the following day to give them some feedback. I was passed to the manager who could not have been more rude! He told me that they had served many orders that night and no-ne else had complained (I know this to be untrue) he also told me that I was a liar, there was nothing wrong with the food! He said that I was wrong, and kept asking me why I was saying such things. I explained the issues with the meal and he said 'no, you are wrong, there is nothing wrong with the food, I don't believe you!' He then asked 'what you want? You want your money back?' I said that no, I wasn't interested in claiming my money back, I merely wanted to give him feedback as this is normally how small businesses learn and grow. His attitude was appalling, he was not interested in apologising, and in fact at one point said that he wouldn't apologise because I was telling lies! I tried to explain that as I wasn't asking for compensation or a refund then what would be the point in making it up? I could understand if I was trying to get something out of him! I eventually said that I was stunned by his attitude and I would be sure to let as many people as possible know about the way he had dealt with, what was really an extremely nice complaint, that he was unwilling to apologise and that his food was inedible. With an attitude and quality like that, I can't see this restaurant lasting much longer!
