• Visited today with my 14 yr old son, at the Ellesmere Port branch. It was his first eye test and was not looking forward to, like most 14 yr olds he isnt keen on having glasses. The lady who conducted the examination was very nice, friendly and related well to him. We discussed him having contact lenses and she said that was fine. When we came back out into the reception though the optometrist on the desk was less helpful. Abrupt, pushy and passive aggressive, telling my son he couldn't have contact lenes yet, he had to wear glasses for at least 3 months first. She was also making assumptions that because he is a teenager he wouldn't be hygienic enough in having clean hands or not biting his nails. I could go on about her whole manner....very disappointed, needs training in customer services. My son himself even commented when we left the shop and said that she was horrible to him. He is due to go back on Wednesday, but as you might guess we wont be going back.

• The family visited Orrells on Saturday, and I was so impressed by the professional service, the friendly staff who had all the time in the world to help with choosing glasses, helping with contanct lens fitting for my daughter and generally putting us at ease. We will definitely be returning. Thanks everyone.
