• I wouldn't learn to drive with Neath School of Motoring (David Davies) if he offered free lessons. I paid for a block of 10 hours and only had 6 as my experience was so terrible. The first 5 lessons I had, I was taken to an industrial estate 20-30 minutes away from my home where there were very few cars. The time taken for David to drive me to this estate and back was taken out of the 10 hours I had paid for which I believe was unfair as it was his choice to take me there. After 5 lessons of driving on a road with barely any traffic, I was eventually allowed onto busier main roads. During this lesson, David regularly raised his voice at me telling me I would fail my test without any constructive comments on how I could improve. I was made to feel very uncomfortable on several occasions when he made sexist comments, saying female drivers were terrible when we passed a car belonging to a girls only driving school. As David is a retired police officer I didn't expect him to say such a thing. From day 1 with David I was told it would take me 40 hours to pass my test at least. After going to a different driving school (BeeWise School of Motoring, who I would highly recommend, who was also at the same price as Neath School of Motoring) I passed my test first time in just 20 lessons. If you want to learn from an instructor who will intimidate you, make you feel uncomfortable and charge you more than necessary, by all means learn with Neath School of Motoring. But if you want a good instructor and want to enjoy your lessons, I would avoid him.
