  • 1 star reviewWent there today Dec 11th hoping for Christmas menu. Not good!. Turkey probably Tesco 50 min. Stuffing probably again supermarket base. Veg extremely basic, roast carrots which looked like they were parsnips.dark colour, but not sure. Brussells extremely ardente, and pale green. Not enough gravy.Only unpeeled non-specific potatoes, neither boiled or roasted. Crumble pudding very dry, not enough ice-cream to compensate. Pretty poor fare

  • 5 star reviewHaving read the last review I have to say that it doesn't sound like they were in the same pub that we and our friends eat in regularly. The owners go out of their way to accomodate their customers. The food is great with a varied menu and prices to suit all. The staff have always been friendly and attentive to us. I would have no qualms recommending it to anyone. A lovely little pub that's welcoming and child friendly. Don't let one nasty review put you off trying it out for yourself. Some people are just extremely diffcult to please !!!

  • 1 star reviewReally disappointed and will not be going back. The Millers has changed hands recently and the new owners are really trying to be something they are not. Overpriced pretentious food, half of which was cold and inedible! Out of 4 meals, not one of them was great and I had to have the beef stroganoff with chips as they had run out of rice! What kind of pub charging almost £18 for some dishes runs out of rice! The only veggie option was risotto so not sure what they would have done for any vegetarians! The stroganoff and chips were ok for just under £10 but my Dad had the £18 lamb rump and was not impressed at all. They didn't ask how he wanted it cooked and it came still bleeding, the vegetables were stone cold and few and far between. The same with my brother's duck, it was served very rare without even asking with a single pan fried potato. My partner had the Hake which its self was ok but the Artichokes it came with were rock hard and completely inedible! All in all very disappointing and at £75 for four of us, very over priced! The waitress was extremely uninterested and when we said it wasn't really that good she didn't even ask why or offer any explanation. This used to be a really good local pub but not any more.

  • 5 star reviewAbsolute gem of a pub. The service is fantastic, they make you feel at ease as soon as you walk in. The food is fantastic and has such a varied specials menu which surprises you everytime you go. I now visit on a regular occasion and find them very accomodating.
