We have lived in Longcot for 8 years and decided to go to the King & Queen for an evening meal as we knew it was under new management. The landlady was very welcoming and the atmosphere was very friendly, and the food was delicious. It was so good that having not been to our local pub for several years, we have since been 3 times and have taken our family. Don't be put off by any old poor reviews as the new management has totally turned the feel of this pub around!! We will be going again!

The King and Queen at Longcot is now under new management and I have to say we were totally impressed with the friendly atmosphere and home cooked food we ate there. WE were out walking in the White Horse Vale when we happened upon the King and Queen. They are also in the process of adding bed and breakfast rooms which will be great and we intend to stay there next time we are walking in the area.

I have lived in Longcot for nearly 30 years and the King and Queen has never been better. The food is excellent - very tasty and not expensive with a fabulous variety. The kitchens are spotlessly clean too. The manager is lovely - very friendly and welcoming. The pub has been restored and looks a treat and there is a cosy wood-burning fire for those cold days. Please try it out for yourself.

We were in the area recently and saw the sign so decided to pop in. First impressions are that its a lovely pub, in a great location with great views of the Uffington White Horse. Landlady very welcoming, and staff seem friendly and efficient. We only went in for a drink, but decided to eat there too. Very tasty food, large portions, reasonably priced with no long wait! Good menu seems to suit most tastes. We would definitely recommend this pub to anyone, and we'll be back before Xmas!! Many thanks

As a Follow up from the previous complaint, i was in the pub on this particular occassion, and i believe these statements to be extremly biased and mostly untrue, im not going into petty detail but i would recommend anyone who would like to try this pub not to be detered by petty comments and frankly a case of sour grapes, but to come a try it out for yourselves, and you will find the service to be a very friendly and high standard along with the quality of the food and the pub itself.

Tonight their was a group of 8 people with me, and we walked into the King And Queen at longcot, at 10.30. At this hour we walked in and there was a lady behind the bar who promptly ran to the other side and sat down. We asked if we could have a quick drink before we went home, and we were very bluntly told that the bar was closed, even though outside the pub there is a board advertising that it closes at 11, as does this website and the pubs website, so we were very rudely asked to leave. Why advertise a time to close and then ignore it? It doesn't bode well for other customers who will want a drink around that time, we were all highly offended.

Just been in the pub this evening, it was the rudest reception I have received in a pub, I walked in at half ten at night, I know this is a late at night but I live in longcot, and all I was hoping for was a quick drink before I got home, and I walked in to get promptly told to turn around and leave, there were about ten people at the bar who all had full drinks but they seemed to be in no rush to finish their drinks, after all this written nonsense above I would never go again is the basic response to the boot I received

We visited this pub 2 weeks ago after not having been there for over 3 years. First impressions were good, the place looked very clean and tidy and the landlady was extremely welcoming. A waitress showed us to our table in the restaurant which was well presented and inviting. Food was prepared to a good standard. Overall a very pleasant experience and we will be sure to return in the near future!

Looked pleasant from the outside, and had heared mixed reviews about new owners,so decided to give it a try for ourselves.Bar not very busy but the few that were in there were very clique. Food was very disappointing and extremely overpriced. Not welcoming, restaurant underwhelming, so wont be hurrying back!
