  • 1 star reviewI just received an email from my son's girlfriend who by the way has currently managed to obtain a job in Chelmsford without any assistance whatsoever from your company. Apparently someone called yesterday to speak to her about not filling in her claim form for unemployment benefit from yourselves correctly. I was extremely annoyed as she was only claiming this money for two weeks before gaining employment independently which would have amounted to £130 (hardly worth worrying about) but was made to feel like a criminal because she apparently stated on her form that she was single (which is her marital status as she is not married to my son). This was, according to your colleague incorrect and was accused of giving incorrect information because she lives with my son who only works part-time at the moment in his current job. It isn't always busy and they keep cutting his hours. Also someone was out to speak to my son last week to clarify where my son's girlfriend lives and also details of my son's earnings. My son's girlfriend is trying to work in her job as much as possible and has also just been advised that she will get more hours soon so between the two of them they are struggling but not claiming any benefits from the UK. My son's girlfriend is of Serbian origin and came to live and work in both Chelmsford and London last year. (she has an Hungarian passport because her mother is Hungarian) She managed to successfully, after a few months, gain employment which was difficult for her but she was extremely fortunate. This person has annoyed her tremendously and my son with his attitude and I was under the assumption that your company would have trained their employees the correct etiquette and diplomacy of approaching honest people - not intimidating decent people. I understand there are people who try to claim benefits and defraud the system but in this case they are hard-working people and didn't deserve this treatment in any way. I am extremely annoyed as it affected them both so much and will be continuing my ongoing dispute with yourselves on this matter. Common courtesy means a lot whether there is an economic recession or not. I will be approaching the head of your department directly with this matter and when I obtain the person's name who perpetrated this towards my son's girlfriend - he can expect to receive more complaints and correspondence from myself. I also thought it hilarious that your employee actually took time out from his desk job at the tax payers deficit to actually perpetrate this nastiness. I would appreciate a reply to this email. If I do not hear from yourselves I will definitely be contacting a higher authority.
