• We read a few negative reviews of India Cottage but, being new to the area, we gave it a go anyway. We're very glad that we did - this is a good place!! Whilst it may not aspire to Michelin stars, the food was hot, tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly and accommodating (we spent an hour chatting before ordering), and were happy to explain any questions we had. The restaurant is well presented - possibly lacks top-end intimacy for a romantic evening, but it is clean and fresh and there is lots of parking too. We were very happy with our visit and will certainly be going back. Don't be put off by negative reviews - give the place a try for yourselves and, by the manager's own admission, sit in will always be fresher than take away - and at the very reasonable restaurant prices, give it a try!

• Disastrous. Not sure what the other person is on about but this restaurant is 'never-go-again' for me. The food was cold and the service was atrocious.

• Very poor service. Perhaps the rudest staff I have ever met. Went there on a date and it was ruined thanks to them. Would have let go if the food was good but by far the worst curry place in England!
