• Trainers bought two and a half months ago - the insides of which have completely disintegrated and rendered them unwearable. Very rude manageress refused to give a refund (despite the fact we had a receipt) Offered a credit note of half the price. Asked for manufacturers details - she didn't know and said she couldn't find out. Asked for contact details of the store owners, this was refused. Disgraceful.

• I bought two pairs of black sandals made in Sweden. After three weeks the uppers came away from the soles. The glue was of poor quality. The worst shoes I have ever bought. The shop refused to consider compensation because I had no proof of purchase. Who keeps receipts of shoe purchase anyway? I have lost 40 pounds

• Needed a pair of work boots and shopped around but should have gone there first - bought a comfy pair for less than £20 and got sorted a new waterproof jacket for my lad at the same time.
