Look up hospitality in the dictionary and you'll fin a picture of The Empire. Quentin and Liz are fantastically friendly hosts, who welcomed this bedraggled cyclist into the bar dripping wet and freezing (it was July!). A large brandy and life saving coffee were conjured up in seconds. The banter at the bar with Joe and Liz and the rest of the Friday night locals was brilliant, ranging from the World Cup, to global politics and where to get your butcher meat in Ayrshire. Forget your fancy city centre bars, The Empire bar Muirkirk is a hidden gem. Pubs like this need to live on. When's the karaoke night?what a wonderful friendly place where
