"Now serving a delicious lunchtime menu Wednesday to Saturday from midday to 14.30. Starters are only £2.95 and Main courses are only £4.95. Now also running a weekly quiz night every Monday. £1 per person and maximum four per team. Cash prizes and free raffle."

• A pub with a campsite within the grounds! If you want to get away from it all, make sure you visit this pub / campsite that accepts between five and seven caravans or motorhomes. Although the site has minimal facilities, the pub gives you everything that you need –real ale, good grub, a quiz night, a roaring open fire and warm friendly welcome from Landlord Terry.

• Wasn't aware that the Canal Inn was under new management so it was a pleasant surprise when I had the best pint of Abbots that I had had in a long time.

• Stayed at the Canal Inn at Belper at the campsite that is owned by the pub. Great value at £7 for tents and £10 for mobile homes/caravans. Four real ales on sale and I understand that food will start again shortly and a quiz night. Landlord was very friendly. You really do want to give this lovely pub a visit.
