  • 2 star reviewi can only echo what has been said, we ordered 2 meals and one came out, had to go to the bar to ask for the other one. i also think £20.00 was a lot for the meal plus basically a starter.

  • 1 star reviewOh dear, a badly made corporate video trying to 'big up' a pub refurbishment. Unfortunately the pub doesn't live up to the video's hype. Although the refurb is done very well indeed, modernising it and making it more accessible, the rest of the video is not true... Initially the pub served breakfasts. My partner met with a group of mothers and toddlers every week there for breakfast (I joined them once, but after the sausages in my breakfast were raw inside, I declined further breakfasts). Unfortunately although the pub was almost empty, the staff seemed to not want them there week after week, eventually relegating them to the damp ex-skittle alley, before stopping breakfasts altogether (probably a good business decision). - not the family friendly atmosphere described in this video. More worryingly was recently when for my aged mothers birthday, I recently booked for Sunday Lunch for her. My parents, myself and partner and toddler arrived on time, and had to search for our reserved table. However when we went to order 4 Sunday lunches, I was told that they had run out and that I should have booked them! After explaining that I had, the barman said that I needed to also book the meal as they often run out - I suggested that maybe the person I booked with should have mentioned this, especially as I had specifically asked for Sunday lunch for a birthday when I booked the table. I then asked my disappointed parents for other choices and ordered those instead. Meanwhile, my daughter had turned around in the supplied high chair and due to the construction of the chair, her arm had got trapped between the slats in the back of the chair. Whilst trying to free her with her screaming, a member of bar staff walked by. Although I explained that she was stuck in the chair and did they have any butter, etc to try and free her, he walked by and never returned. 15 minutes later, a member of staff walked by asking to take out order (we had already sat there for 45 minutes).... 15 minutes later the table next to us received Sunday lunches.... 5 minutes later I went to the serving area and asked when our food would arrive - I also explained about the lack of sunday lunches asked if it would be possible to buy some Yorkshire Puddings for my parents meals to make up for it. 10 minutes later, our meals finally arrived. Unfortunately I was told that they could not make any Yorkshire puddings (?!!). As there was no 'courtesy check', I had to find a member of bar staff to explain my father's steak was not 'medium well' as requested, but actually rare. They took away the meal and returned with the steak properly cooked a few minutes later. The barman asked if my father would like another drink 'on the house', but as he was drinking tap water I suggested that my mother had another drink instead. A few minutes later, he arrived with a drink for my mother and told me I would have to pay for it as it was only my Father's drink he was offering to provide for free! All in all, a good demonstration of terrible customer service. The food was 'Okay', typical 'pub food', and the decor is very nice, but myself and fame will certainly never return. Top this off with the fact there was only a junior bar manager available, so I visited the following day to explain to Paula the issues I had met with, and she was completely unapologetic, instead explaining that they did not provide table service. After offering a voucher to return (which has still not arrived 5 Weeks later), she left me. I discovered the high chair trapping arms issue has also happened to at least 2 other children and so decided to ring Everards directly. The person I spoke to was very helpful but similarly not of use as they only franchise the pub to the landlord so do not want to have any responsibility (but she would talk to the regional manager..). One to avoid I'm afraid
