• We spent two nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was large, inexpensive, comfortable and overlooked the river and gardens. This welcoming and traditional style hotel has a lovely lounge and breakfast was served in the pretty conservatory restaurant overlooking the river with plenty of ducks and swans to entertain. The owners of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We also visited the nearby pub and the excellent local brewery.

• Save your money & sleep on the streets, the rooms have filthy stained carpets, even the bathrooms are carpeted!! The fixtures and fittings are dangerous. Thankfully we booked 1 night, I would pity the person who looked at the website & booked a long anticipated holiday there.However Jean Pauls restaurant must be rented separately from the owner because the food and service there is lovely . Unfortunately they dont serve you breakfast in the conservatory as the website promises. You have to go outside to Grandmas house, deceptively quaint sounding, and eat there.
