• Whatever you do don't use Big construction / John Carberry. The poor reviews here reflect everything I experienced. Leaking garage, wrong levels, door that didn't fit, blocked my drains, used indoor wood outdoors unpainted.... The list goes on and it took 6 months for me to fix. Took money and failed to complete job (He walked away without finishing when he ran out of money)

• Im now having to spend a fair amount of money putting stuff right with my garage. Really dissapointed , 5 year garuantee wasn't honoured in anyway. Roof is a bit of a shambles and has to be mostly replaced, a lot of water damage due to cheap felt and eaves not right for the roof pitch. Always consider if you buy cheap you will buy twice. Turns out the articles in the papers are true...

• william and the boys have just finished my utility/downstair bathroom and garage conversion, we are delighted with all the guys on time every day, nothing was a problem as we asked for a few extras and this was all completed within our timescale given very very good company to work with.

• Fantastic Company, The Boys Know There Stuff Never Let Us Down Once, Dealt With Warrants From Start To Finish.Easy To Deal With, Cant Go Wrong With Big Construction.

• Got this builders name from rated people which are now removing him. Happy to come and see you to collect cheques but when it comes to site management none is provided. Workmen don't show up extension like a swimming pool and seriously hazards everywhere. Ames taper was injured by a falling lintel and soaking plasterboard fell on my husband. Along with me getting injured from the falling debris when the ames taper was injured. No communication and never seen anyone since the week before xmas. Paid in full and had another builder out £10,000 to rectify and complete the build.

• Do not touch this company. He will give you a price for a job to be done. Get all the money & does not complete the job. I have had to get the council to provide me with a list for work to be completed so I can get my building warrant sign off. I have be quoted £15000 to fix my extension & complete work I have all ready paid mr john cranberry at big construction. He has been paid in full for my job to be completed & he has done a runner with my money. He has also done this with another couple who only life 3 miles from me as he started both jobs at the same time & taken all her money all & not completed the work. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN ANY MONEY HE IS NOT A BUILDER WITH THE STATE HE HAS LEFT MY PROPERTY I have also started to receive bills in from companies looking for money that he has been paid for but he has not paid these companies. The man is very bad news. Please stay clear of him. Had to provIde 1 star as it would not let me submit comments until I did.. He is not worth any starts....

• John Carberry / Big Construction is still happy to take money upfront but is still leaving jobs unfinished. Basic mistakes being made during construction which required to be rectified. Lack of courtesy, abysmal communication - only happy to be on site to collect money! Do not use this builder / Company! Only gets 1 star as I can't give none!!
