• My friend and I visited the Beech Tree Pub on 29th October at around 8pm. It wasn't particularly busy and we got served very quickly. However, the quality of the 2 dishes was very poor. My friend had beef pie and I had fish pie. The meat was rather fatty and the vegetables were over cooked. My fish pie was tiny - small dish and only half full. The dish was on a big plate which had cabbage on it. The cabbage was cold - the fish pie was tasty enough once I had seasoned it with black pepper but smaller than some starters I have seen. We paid over £18 for these 2 meals and 2 glasses of lime and soda. We left very disappointed and without having a dessert and coffee as we felt we were not getting the quality we expected from a reputable restaurant. We were not asked if everything was okay before we left – probably because they saw the quality of the food and daren’t ask.
