• We had heard good things about this place but have to say the experience was very disappointing. The table we were shown to was less than inspiring being a large square affair with hard wooden chairs without cushions. It reminded me of a typycal set up for school dinners. Some flowers, a candle better than a tee light in a glass and a quality napkin (not a paper serviette) would have given it a more homely feel. Onto the food. The best I can say is very over priced for what you get. Our starter of tiger prawns was ok but not special. I orderd an Easter spiced braised chicken in an aromatic sauce. This is better discribed as a chicken curry (and a cook in sauce type curry at that!) I was expecting something more oriental and cant recall curry sauce ever being called aromatic?? That said it was also ok. Service was ok with no delays. Overall I would say that the food is OK poorly described and certainly very overpriced. We wont be returning. Check out the pub with the same nale at Souldrop where everything is home cooked traditional food at sensible prices. The Landlord from Oakley could do well to pay it a visit too !!
