  • 5 star reviewI have just purchased a Mercedes 220E from Beck Evans and I must say it was a good experience if you can say that when parting with a lot of money. Andrew the sales manager took me through the whole Process expertly and also took care of my personal number plate change, nothing was too much trouble for them, the fitters at Beck Evens are great very knowledgeable about the cars they sell

  • 5 star reviewI want to report a very positive recent experience with Beck Evans, as I have also reported on forums. About 2 months ago I purchased a 2005 BMW 325i estate for 6K. After driving it for a week or so, it became clear that the car was burning far too much oil, and subsequent tests confirmed this and suggested some sort of engine wear problem. So I contacted Beck Evans and asked for my money back: after running their own tests, they took the car back and gave me a full refund. [And I should point out that it's perfectly possible that they weren't aware of the problem when they sold me the car, since it only becomes apparent after you've driven a couple of hundred miles.] So I can't comment on the experience reported above, but my own recent experience has been entirely positive.

  • 1 star reviewAn appalling experience. Firstly I arrived to collect my car (£12,000 BMW M3) as planned and was told "its not here, the boss has been using it". Some 15mins later it arrives, not valeted. I take this on the chin and don't complain. During the first week of driving it becomes apparent that the headlights to not self level and always point downwards meaning night driving is impossible. I call the dealer and without apology they say "call the warranty company". I explain that I have not got any details for the warranty company and after 2 requests I get sent a booklet. After having to find my own mechanic and arrange the warranty company to pay him the fault is resolved (car not useable for one week during the night). Two weeks later the drivers door lock actuator fails and again I put this through the warranty company (car not driveable for one week). A further two weeks pass and the O/S/F brake caliper seizes on. I speak to the warranty company who inform me this is not covered so I duly call Beck Evans. The workshop is no help as they ask me to bring the car in but as anyone who has the remote understanding of vehicles will confirm its not advisable to drive a car with a seizes caliper at all, especially not 30mins up the motorway - at best its not safe but will also destroy the discs and pads. They also stated that any work would be chargeable. Anyway I am asked to email Samuel Evans which I do, not making any demands - just asking for some help. All I get back is a snotty email from with secretary telling me they will do absolutely nothing to help and quoting various legal jargon that mean they are not obliged to help. Now I'm not and 'email warrior' or someone that wants something for nothing but I think this is disgusting behavior and even if they could not help out financially they could at least of apologized? But no, nothing. I have now had to pay for a new caliper and my vehicle was off the road for another week. AVOID THIS DEALER LIKE THE PLAGUE - once they have your money all customer service ceases. (ps I want to put a zero star rating but cannot).
