• shame about the previous comments. We frequently use the cafe side of the business since its very convenient to us for a brunch or late lunch. Because of this we have been there at all times in and out off-season week and week ends. The food as always been delicious and plentyful and nothing is too much trouble . We have never waited long for our drinks or food and we have been going for many years. Long may my cooked brunches be served there.

• This review concerns the cafe at Bay View. I have visited it several times, with my husband and with friends. The food and drink is excellent. The location is beautiful, overlooking the bay and there is plenty of seating. However, as I experienced today, not for the first time, the management of getting food out quickly and efficiently is fundamentally flawed, in my opinion. If you go out of season and avoiding weekends it works ok. Today, Sunday, my husband ordered 2 coffees, a vanilla slice and a slice of egg custard tart. Simple, 10mins top, you might think or items could have been served from the counter at the time of ordering. What seems to happen is that your order is put in the queue with hot meals service. We must have waited 30 mins only to then be told there were no vanilla slices left at this point. Obviously, nobody had noticed that those slices must have been ordered by someone before us in the queue, but not removed from the counter accordingly. 3people who only wanted an ice cream cone each complained twice, after 20 mins wait. Why? I'm afraid I was so exasperated that we demanded a refund. If you have lots and lots of time to spare and patience then you will like using this cafe. I'm afraid I will be giving it a miss. There are lots of others in the area which are brilliant.
